Munchkin Unicorns Update, Playmat Preorders Close Soon

Good news! The Munchkin Unicorns and Friends cards, Boxes of Holding, and Kill-O-Meter are all moving into final production at the factory, and everything is on schedule! Yesterday, we verified one manufacturing detail with the factory, and now we're into the last of the "wait, wait, wait" stage of making games. 

If all goes according to plan, we should see the finished samples in our office in early October. What comes after that? Loading the completed copies of Munchkin Unicorns and Friends onto a container and shipping everything across the Pacific to our fulfillment partner in Michigan . . . and then to your home!

At the moment, the majority of you have completed your surveys: Thanks! We still need about 200 of you to finish your BackerKit surveys, though, so please handle that this week. We don't want any delays when it comes to delivering your rewards, right?

Preorder Playmats

We're in the final week of holding the Munchkin Mat of Mayhem, Munchkin Shakespeare, and The Good, the Bad, and the Munchkin playmats open for preorder, so please visit Warehouse 23 today if you want to add these to your collection. We will have a few remaining once we ship the preorders in October, but we don't know how many and we currently don't plan to reprint these again in 2018.

BackerKit Update, Mat of Mayhem Reprint, and Two New Munchkin Playmats!

First up, thank you for getting to your surveys so very quickly! Many of you took care of your surveys right away, and that will make it much easier for us to fulfill your add-on rewards. 747 of you still need to finish your surveys, so please take care of that before Monday. Munchkin Mat of Mayhem and Two More Munchkin Playmats

As promised, we're notifying all of you that a second printing of the Munchkin Mat of Mayhem is now open for preorder on Warehouse 23. This playmat turned out a lot more popular than we were expecting, and enough requests for a reprint came in that we're happy to produce more so that all of you can enjoy the new playmat. Preorders close on September 4, 2018.

Additionally, we also have two other playmats open for preorder.

• Munchkin Shakespeare: Globe Theater Playmat

Surveys Open, Please Complete Today!

Good news! We have opened the pledge manage for the Munchkin Unicorns and Friends project, and surveys have been emailed to all of you. We ask that all of you complete your surveys this week; early in the day on Monday, August 20, we will lock down our manufacturing quantities at the factory. At that point, we will place limits on all of the add-on items so that we can manage the project inventory.

We plan to keep surveys open until early October; the immediate deadline is only so that we can move forward with manufacturing. You see, the tooling samples have arrived . . . and the expansion looks fabulous!

This deadline only affects those of you who want to add-on extra Unicorns decks, or boxes, or the Kill-O-Meter; there will be plenty of items to cover all of the selected reward levels that were selected during the project before it closed last month.

Munchkin Unicorns and Friends

Those of you who selected the $18 and $60 reward levels will receive the complete retail package. This is the expansion as it will appear in stores next year; this includes the cards, Boxes of Holding, and Kill-O-Meter in a 9.5" x 9.5" over-sized tuckbox. We will ship your rewards before we send the Munchkin Unicorns and Friends expansion to our distributors.

Steve's First RPG, The Fantasy Trip

In other important news, Steve has recovered the rights to his first roleplaying game design, and we are happy to report that the game is now on Kickstarter. The Fantasy Trip, first published as two microgames four decades ago, has been out-of-print since the early eighties. Now, thanks to the support of over 2,300 backers, we're bringing the game back in a bigger and better format. Over two dozen stretch goals have been unlocked so far, and there's still over a week to go, so there's no telling how big the game will get!

And that ends that, gang, as the Munchkin Unicorns and Friends Kickstarter project comes to a close. Over 2,400 of you joined forces to unlock every stretch goal and make this new set a reality, and we're thankful for all of your support and encouragement as we now take the next steps to bring this new Munchkin expansion to our catalog and to your gaming table.

Fortunately, you unlocked all of the project's stretch goals early enough that we were able to send the project to the factory before the countdown struck zero; already, our partners at GPI are preparing the proofs and moving Munchkin Unicorns and Friends down the path to a successful delivery before the end of the year.

We'll be back soon with more news on the project, as well as details on the upcoming BackerKit pledge manager, but for now, we ask all of you to enjoy the weekend, play Munchkin, and accept our thanks for making this new expansion as big and fun as it could be.

Bonus: Munchkin Love Shark Baby Added to Most Reward Levels!

Not a stretch goal!

We're closing in on the final two days of the project, and though we cannot add more stretch goals (the last thing we want is to delay delivery), we can do one better and include the adorable Munchkin Love Shark Baby, illustrated by Katie Cook, to many of the reward levels! 

If you're backing at the $18, $26, $32, $36, or $60 reward levels, you don't have to do a thing: Munchkin Love Shark Baby is automatically added to your rewards! After crunching some numbers and a look at inventory, we determined that this was totally workable . . . so it is done!

As part of this addition, we set a backer limit on the $18 reward level. We're pretty sure that we won't hit that limit, but this was a necessary change to the reward so that we don't accidentally over-commit and cause problems.

As we enter the final days, please let all of your friends know about the project. We want to get as many Munchkin players joining us as possible so that there are many, many unicorns in the dungeons later this year. Thanks!
